Membership Requirements

The Cranial Academy welcomes new members. All applicants for membership must have successfully completed an Approved 40-Hour Introductory Course in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field. See Prerequisites For Enrollment.

REGULAR MEMBERS

US trained Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine are eligible to become Regular Members of the Cranial Academy. Requirements for Regular Membership include:

  1. An applicant for Regular Membership shall be a member of:
    1. The American Academy of Osteopathy
    2. The American Osteopathic Association.
  2. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  3. The applicant shall be endorsed by two (2) Regular Members of The Cranial Academy.
  4. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  5. Payment of appropriate dues.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

US-trained DDSs, DMDs or MDs are eligible to become Associate Members of the Cranial Academy. Requirements for Associate Membership include:

  1. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  2. The applicant shall be endorsed by two (2) Regular Members of The Cranial Academy
  3. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  4. Payment of appropriate dues

AFFILIATE MEMBERS

Osteopaths trained in countries other than the United States are eligible to become Affiliate Members of the Cranial Academy. Requirements for Affiliate Membership include:

  1. Membership (in good standing) of their Affiliate Society (recognized by The Cranial Academy) in the country or province in which they practice osteopathy.
  2. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  3. Recommendation by one (1) Regular Member of the Cranial Academy.
  4. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.
  5. Payment of appropriate dues.

Doctors of Medicine trained in countries other than the United States are welcome to become Affiliate Members of the Cranial Academy. Requirements for Affiliate Membership include:

  1. Unlimited licensure to practice medicine in the country where they reside and eligibility for licensure in the United States
  2. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  3. Recommendation by one (1) Regular Member
  4. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  5. Payment of appropriate dues.

STUDENT MEMBERS

Student Members are always welcome. Requirements for Student Membership include:

  1. Enrollment in any US accredited osteopathic or US accredited allopathic college.
  2. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  3. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in The Cranial Field.
  4. Payment of appropriate dues.
