Affiliate Membership

Osteopaths trained in countries other than the United States are eligible to become Affiliate Members of the Cranial Academy. Requirements for Affiliate Membership include:

  1. Membership (in good standing) of their Affiliate Society (recognized by The Cranial Academy) in the country or province in which they practice osteopathy.
  2. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  3. Recommendation by one (1) Regular Member of the Cranial Academy.
  4. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.
  5. Payment of appropriate dues.

Doctors of Medicine trained in countries other than the United States are welcome to become Affiliate Members of the Cranial Academy. Requirements for Affiliate Membership include:

  1. Unlimited licensure to practice medicine in the country where they reside and eligiblility for licensure in the United States
  2. Application shall be made on a Prescribed Form.
  3. Recommendation by one (1) Regular Member
  4. Successful completion of an Approved Introductory Course: Osteopathy in the Cranial Field
  5. Payment of appropriate dues.

Affilitate Societies

The term "Affiliate Society" means a registry, association or other professional organization (that has been accepted by the Board of Directors) normally in the business of registering and/or setting standards for Doctors of Osteopathy or Registered Practitioners of Osteopathy in the country or province of origin of the applicant.

Criteria for acceptance as an Affiliate Society are:

  1. Demonstration by the society of generally accepted standards for the practice of osteopathy in philosophical, historical, educational, technical and ethical areas;
  2. Approval by the Board of Directors;
  3. Receipt by The Cranial Academy of the bylaws, constitution or articles of incorporation (English translation);
  4. Receipt by The Cranial Academy of a current list of members.
